Duality with Varnishby ~Munqaxus

Traditional Art / Paintings / Macabre & Horror

This is the painting 'Duality' with a gloss varnish. I can't decide if I like taking the photograph of the painting better with varnish or without. I like the depth and tonality of the image with the varnish but it has some really harsh highlights too. I also lose some of the texture with the varnish. I guess you have a hand off with which ever way you take the photograph.

Tough call on the varnish/no varnish... I think the increased depth of tones makes up for the loss in texture.
